I’m headed to England for school at Capernwray Hall in September. Tuition is about $9 800 CDN, and I figure I’ll need about $15 000 in total to survive the 6 month course for travel and expenses - as well as continue support for a child I sponsor through Compassion Canada.
My dream is to get there debt free and provide a tangible service for every dollar I put towards tuition and expenses.
I want to use my God given talents and abilities as much as possible to partner with people to fund this trip.
Currently I work full time now at City Kidz - a ministry in the inner city of Hamilton. I get to work with a wonderful staff and amazing kids full of potential. I figure I can save up to $9 000 myself from my salary. That is not enough to cover my costs.
How You Can Help
To achieve this dream, I have a goal to sell 500 photography prints by August 15, 2007 which will supplement my own earnings and hopefully cover all costs.
I have put together an online store and have set the profit for each photograph sold at $12.75 USD - which is about $15 CAD with current exchange rates.
There are multiple sizes that you can choose from, and prices vary accordingly. Every photograph sold, whether large or small - I receive the exact same profit: $12.75 USD. (All prices are in American funds)

Wait, something doesn’t add up
You may have noticed that $7 500 in total print profits plus my own $9 000 works out to about $16 500. This number is above my estimation of $15 000, that is true.
I want this to be about more than just myself. I feel I have been given some amazing opportunities, and God has called me in to some wonderful ministry, now and in the future. I’ve been tugged on the heart by some local organizations that I feel are doing awesome things. I want my experience to empower and enlarge others.
To that end, there are two charities that I would like to support in this endeavor - I have decided so long as I have enough to cover school I will give 10% of total profits through the WideOpenCanvas Store to City Kidz, and 10% to another locally founded charity called I Am Coming.
If you do the math, that’s approximately $1 500.
$9 000 + $7 500 - $1 500 = $15 000
Thats about $15 000 for the school fund.
If things don’t go as planned and I require slightly more than $15 000 or I don’t reach that target I may not be able to give exactly 10% of the proceeds to those charities. Any money that is left over after covering the cost of schooling will be divided evenly and donated to the aforementioned charities.
These charities are worthwhile and I am more than happy to support them.
