While I’m Away, I’ll Write and Play
Wow. Tomorrow I’m crossing the big pond and landing myself in England. If you didn’t know, I’m going to a Capernwray Hall for a 22 week bible course — school starts on the 29th. Thanks to all who have supported me emotionally and financially — I couldn’t have done it with out you.
I’ll be staying with my brother for the weeks leading up to the course and hope to use that time to develop some regular writing schedules. My aim is to write a weekly every Saturday evening. This will help me to reflect and share my experiences with all that are interested. The posts won’t be too involved, but I hope to cover the essence of my experience.
Also, I’d like to post essay formatted entries every other Wednesday, working towards every Wednesday while I’m away. These essays will mostly be about things I’ve thought about while over there but will also include thing’s I’ve been meaning to write about for a while. My main objective is to develop my writing and my writing voice. I want to be very deliberate in this writing exercise, so I will be putting a 3 week minimum on preparation, research and writing on all my essays.
Additionally, if you read my posts directly from JeremyCurry dot com you will notice that things have changed a bit. Large and structured posts are given a column on the front page, while the latest smaller posts and thoughts are given a column on the right of the site – “asides” if you will. The asides will be updated periodically as I feel led to share something during the week. Just above the latest asides are “tweets” from Twitter — little updates about the mundane workings through the day. I’ll be using the tweets to keep people updated to my schedule and what I’m doing in England.
Hope that brings everyone up to speed, and cements my commitment to writing while I’m away.
