Dog Stitched

When I came home yesterday, I noticed Sheba’s bandage was off, and I looked at her cut, and it was closed up. I assumed the bandaging had helped. I was wrong. While I was gone, my parents took the Sheba to our old vet for our last dog Shadow. He said that usually bandages aren’t helpful, since it doesn’t allow the wound to heal, and the dog can’t clean it. BUT, I was right, she needed stitches, and the bandages kept the skin moist enough to allow him to stitch the cut together after so long. If we had left it off, it would have healed into a big scar, and he wouldn’t have been able to stitch it. So I’m happy that I insisted on the bandaging. I’m glad it wont have to be a ugly scar, and now Sheba’s fine. The stitches will be absorbed by the body eventually, and disappear. Oh, and it only cost us $93. So thank God for small mercies, eh?
