Oh, My God

So many times, I’ve heard the words come out of their lips… “Oh, My God!”

I think to my self. “What about him?”, “Who is He”, “Tell me more about Him”. If I ever say it aloud, the shock in in their face just shouts “What’s wrong with this guy?”.

But I know, my God. He is gracious, loving, and merciful. I know, that when in the pit of my heart, I feel desperate, useless, and alone, that the words “Oh, my God…” can be the first steps in getting back on my feet again. They can be words of indeering love, and a cry for help. These words, to me, are more than wasted rhetoric, these words are affectionate words, that are begging for God to answer. Only because of Jesus, is this possible, for me to have such intimacy with the Creator of the earth and sky, and I know that I’m not alone.

Oh, my God…
Take my life, my soul, redeem them
Take my heart, my mind, clean them
Oh, my God…
Meet me where I am, and rescue me from this valley of darkness
Show me your face, and show me my weakness
Oh, my God…
Give me what I need today, and show me your strength
Give me your love, and show my your compassion
Thank you, Oh, my God, for being my close, and personal God, who has not forsaken me.
